WHAT Candlelit Tales Samhain Special - The Loft
WHEN 9pm, Wednesday November 1
WHERE The Lounge

At Samhain, it has long been said, the veil between our world and the next flutters and dances in the breezes of the changing season. And on these windy nights, all manner of creatures can slip through, or an unwary traveller find themselves in a strange place.

We have come to fear Samhain as we have come to fear death, but for a people who saw life and death as close bedfellows, things were not quite so simple, and wonder and terror walked hand in hand.

Over the years, many tales have amassed of the otherworldly encounters on that day, and this month, we will bring you tales of the meetings with creatures beyond the Veil.

Free admission | Donations welcome |
Come early to get cosy like a cat in a sheep skin..

WHAT Jared & The Mill (USA)
WHEN 9pm, Saturday November 4
WHERE The Lounge

Brilliant six-piece all the way from Arizona.

I used to be young; I sang about shit I believed.

Jared & The Mill have taken their addictive blend of folksy pop-rock across the continent dozens of times, wearing out amps and transmissions alike. Since 2011, the boys have forged a unifying bond with each other and their audience.

An earnest air of camaraderie pervades their performances, but 2017’s as yet unnamed album steers the tour van a bit askew. Perhaps the sheen of pop wears off when you’ve been on the road for too long, perhaps the sugar begins to hurt your teeth.

Or maybe it’s the steadily darkening horizons that have sobered the mood and raised the stakes. Wether it’s reaction to worsening political climate or just the natural course of an endless tour life on this latest album the tides in the band's life have gotten heavy.
